Where is Store Nº8? Can I visit it?
Store Nº8 is named after a store — but we’re not a physical location, we’re a team. Our name is an homage to the eighth Walmart store launched in Morrilton, Arkansas, where Sam Walton tested new strategies and innovations. Our team members are located in Hoboken, NJ; Bentonville, AR; and Los Angeles, CA.
What is corporate incubation?
Corporate incubation is a way for enterprises to create a pathway to radical innovation and disruptive ideas without interrupting ongoing operations or customer experience. Store Nº8 dedicates resources ranging from strategic guidance, to operational services and network access, along with financial capital, in order to grow an idea into a viable business.
How do I apply/get into the incubator?

What happens after a portfolio company graduates?
Our structure gives Store Nº8 portfolio companies the freedom to test, learn, and iterate on their ideas. If an idea doesn’t work, they pivot quickly. When they succeed, the portfolio company graduates from Store Nº8 and enters the broader Walmart organizationso their tech, products, and learnings can be applied at scale.
What does success look like for Store Nº8?
Because we’re future-focused, we’re not working towards traditional success metrics. Our ultimate goal is to help fuel Walmart’s core business, create new operational efficiencies, and unlock amazing experiences for our customers in the long-term.
