It's been just 14 months since retail visionary Jenny Fleiss signed on as co-founder of Store Nº8's first portfolio company. Her charge? The same as everyone at Store Nº8: Create the future of retail. More specifically, build the most effortless, customized, and curated shopping experience possible. And launch it by May 2018. If anyone could do it, Jenny could.

After more than a year in stealth mode, Jetblack is the first example of our phased approach to incubation.
PHASE 1: DESIGN
The design phase began in late 2016 with a hypothesis around a capability that could be the next step change in merchandising. What if we doubled down on the customer experience and leverage emerging technologies to build the most effortless, customized, and curated shopping experience possible?
What would adding a layer of human intelligence, personalization and expertise do to the experience? What if we could simplify shopping and give people time back? We explored enabling technologies (including AI and voice) and fleshed out the idea to the point of proof of concept.
