V-commerce transports customers to a world of wonder, where exploration, discovery, and interaction forges a new path to purchase as well as deep emotional connections between brands and consumers.
Incubation in Action
After a year in stealth, Spatial& is the second portfolio company to be incubated by Store N°8.
It started with an observation: In 2017, the majority of the technology and content developed in the VR space was limited to gaming and entertainment. VR was miscast as a niche medium limited by hardware constraints and little return on investment.
The team at Store N°8 developed a hypothesis and imagined a future where shopping for anything was as easy as putting on a headset. VR could enable consumers to experience brands and products at their absolute best and explore them in ways never before possible. Best-in-class brands could take ownership of how their story was told and involve customers more deeply than ever.
In 2017, Store N°8 hosted Innov8, a gala and open call to the VR community to develop experiences as proof of concept — demonstrating that VR could enable a new platform, V-commerce.
