TAKING THE STRATEGIC
After spending the early part of my career as a Product Manager in e-commerce retail startups, I wanted to move into a role that offered a more business-oriented, strategic focus on the future of retail.
Joining Store Nº8 has afforded me the incredible opportunity to have a seat at the table where some of Walmart’s investments in big, transformational ideas for the future are decided.
Currently, I’m focused on discovering and defining our vision for what the next generation of retail could look like. With that, I’m helping develop the longer-term strategic plan for how Store Nº8 incubates companies that will deliver on that vision.
In my role at Store Nº8, I'm able to leverage my product experience as we research and assess next-generation technologies and capabilities that have the potential to be truly transformational for retail and that will ultimately become strategic assets for Walmart.
Of those technologies, I find voice recognition to be particularly interesting. We think of this traditionally as being used with in-home search devices; however, watching this technology move beyond the home into other on-the-go environments with seamless voice-activated transactions will be a game-changer.
